They told me iam not going to be successful and I did just the opposite

 MLUNGISI ZWELIHLE GUMEDE

When I was young aged 13 it was always a dream to me to be successful and to be famous as a poet or musician. I was also willing to be a successful business man one day.

But what was always in my mind was that I am only going to achieve this after passing my matric and after finishing my studies at a university level.

I can not lie growing up was not easy and wasn't smooth for me a specially after the death of my father Blondie Mphikeleli Gumede year 2009. Life became very hard.

Since my granny the mother of my mother was living in a small one room house with the grandmother of my mother on the other side she had to look after cattle since there were no boys to do that.

So as a result they asked my mother to request me so to take care of the cattle and it is where I started living at my mother's home.

Life was very nice and everything was cool things started to turbulate after the returning of my wifes uncle from Johannesburg she began treating me very badly.

I remember when I was doing my grade 12 I wanted to study harder and get good results and it was always my dream to be counted with high matric performers especially year 2016.

But that could happen because when I was trying to study I was told that I am not going to make it, guess what I was told to wash dishes, clean the yard, even though there are people to do that and after that I was told to collect cattle.

I had little time to study. When I told them about the dream of going to varsity I was told that varsities are full.

People from my community believed in me they told me iam going to make it and iam going to be the teacher one day . Those words inspired me and I worked even harder.

Luckily I passed my matric with Bachelor with one distinction and 34 points excluding life orientation. However my dream was to get all 8 distinctions but I was very grateful.

I went to varsity year 2017 now it year 2020 iam doing my final year at University of Zululand because of the disturbance of the Corona virus outbreak my final year will be 2021.

I still believe in my dreams and I am going to make it I can see , people will always discourage but never listen to them do your thing your harvest fruitful results.
